The Benton County Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of 672 square miles of County Roads. In addition to road maintenance, work is done annually on bridges, culverts and ditch repairs. The Highway Departments has 23 employees and operates on a 2 million dollar budget. Revenues to support the budget are from Indiana State Motor Vehicle Highway Tax.
