Recorder
The recorder maintains and preserves all legal documents affecting title to real property. These records are the legal basis for determining ownership. We also record many other types of documents ranging from Deeds and Mortgages to Assumed Business Names and Military Discharges.
Our dedicated staff is committed to providing you with fast and accurate assistance with your recording needs. For your convenience we added the ability to accept credit/debit cards.
No Legal Advice Will Be Given by the Recorder's Staff Either in Person or by Telephone.
Some Benton County property owners have received an official looking solicitation letter from a company named LOCAL RECORDS OFFICE in Indianapolis. This company offers to sell you a copy of your deed for an extremely inflated price of $109.50 or more. Please know that copy of your deed can be obtained from the county Recorders office at $1.00 per page or online at doxpop.com.
Although the office went live on computers July 1, 2002, we have diligently worked to back scan and index all deeds, Easements from April 1977 to current date and Mortgages from 1992 to current date so that they are available online. Documents are available on www.doxpop.com when you create an account.
E-Recordings are accepted through either Simplifile at www.simplifile.com or CSC at www.erecording.com.
We look forward to serving you.
